How to install Metamask: A Step-by-Step Guide

You should use Metamask and not hardware wallets to get PGN. PGNs are bought and sold using Crypto currencies on Polygon, a low gas fees blockchain, Polygon uses specifically Matic. To use Matic, you need a personal wallet.

What is Metamask: MetaMask is a crypto wallet & gateway to blockchain apps that bridges the gap between the user interfaces for Ethereum (For example, Mist browsers, DApps) and the regular web (For example, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, websites). Its function is to bridge a JavaScript library called web3.js into the namespace of each page your browser loads. Web3.js is written by the Ethereum core team. Metamask is mainly used as a plugin in the web browser. Metamask generates passwords and keys on your device, so only you have access to your accounts and data. A wallet is needed to Buy, store, send and swap tokens. Available as a browser extension and as a mobile app, Metamask equips you with a key vault, secure login, token wallet, and token exchange, everything you need to manage your digital assets. We will be using Metamask, and also Google Chrome throughout this tutorial. Metamask is also available on other browsers, but just know we'll be using Chrome. Let’s walk through the steps to install it on Google Chrome.

Step 2: Search MetaMask.

Step 3: Check the number of downloads to make sure that the legitimate MetaMask is being installed, as hackers might try to make clones of it. Quick Wallet install

1. Go to Metamask.io

2. Click the blue Download button in the upper right corner.

3. Click the blue Install Metamask for Chrome button (or the browser you're using).

4. The Chrome web store will open in a new tab. In the top right there is a blue button saying Add to Chrome. Click it.

5. A popup will inform you what Metamask can do before adding. If you are fine with this, click on Add extension.

6. Your computer will process the add install, after a correct install a new tab will open. Saying congratulations, Metamask is installed. Click Get Started to continue.

Set Up Your Wallet Metamask is now installed, the next step is You need to set up your wallet which is where you will keep your digital assets.

7. As you are new to Metamask and don't have a wallet yet, you will need to create one. First, click on Create a Wallet.

8. Next is the option to agree to Metamask's data sharing or not. Read it carefully, and then click either No Thanks or I Agree. To complete process is the same whichever you choose.

9. Now you need to choose your password. Metamask's only password requirement is that it's at least 8 characters, but we recommend you add some numbers and/or special characters too. Make sure it's memorable. You will also need to read the Terms of Use and tick the box to confirm you have read them. Once done, click the Create button.

10. Next is a video about your secret recovery phrase. We advice to watch it. Your secret recovery phrase is very important. After you've watched the video and read the text on the page, click Next.

11. You will now be able to see your secret recovery phrase. For some reason, they call it a secret backup phrase on this page, but they are the same. Click on the grey box with the padlock to see your phrase. Write and store it down somewhere safe and then click Next.

12. Next you need to confirm that you have your secret backup phrase. Click each word in the order they appear in your phrase. If you didn't write it down you can click Back to go see your phrase again. Once you have them in the correct order, you can click the Confirm button.

13. Congratulations, you've correctly set up your Metamask wallet. Click All Done After this you have installed and configured your wallet can move forward to adding funds to your wallet.
