THE FACTS ABOUT THE PEANUT Peanuts, which belong to the legume family of plants, grow in pods that ripen underground. This plant is grown worldwide and is used in many products for oil production. Peanut oil is also used for human consumption in many forms as well as used in food products to add protein, fiber, flavonoids, and resveratrol. As more research has been conducted on peanuts, it has been found that they contain numerous other practical mixtures like proteins, filaments, polyphenols, cancer prevention agents, nutrients, and minerals which can be added as a utilitarian fixing too many handled food varieties. WHERE DO PEANUTS COME FROM? The Peanut is indigenous to tropical and subtropical areas of the world, particularly those in the Western Hemisphere. It is thought that the Peanut originated in South America and spread throughout the New World via Spanish explorers, who noted its adaptive nature. Upon their return to Europe, they took Peanuts with them.
DID HUMANS CREATE PEANUTS? The peanut plant originated in South America, most likely Peru or Brazil. There are no fossil records of this, yet South Americans made ceramic objects that resembled peanuts and decorated containers with the plant as far back as 3,500 years ago.

WHAT MAKES A HONEY BEE UNIQUE? The honey bee is the only insect that humans consume for food. A single worker honey bee can fly for up to six miles and as fast as 15 miles per hour (ca. 24 km/h); it would have to fly around 90,000 miles (ca. 144,841 km) – on different occasions all around the planet – to make one pound of honey.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT BEES? Bees are the most effective pollinators in the world. After 100 million years of evolution, they have developed into an ideal pollinator. A honey bee's tongue is adapted to the kind of blossom it feeds from, and its body is specially evolved to gather pollen.

WHY DO HONEYCOMBS HAVE HEXAGON Using hexagons enables bees to use space while using as little wax as possible, efficiently. They hold the maximum amount of honey while ensuring no space is wasted because the hexagons fit tight, and together it is a robust structure and works as an optimum ecosystem.
WHY IS HONEY UNIQUE Honey is a different and strange because, unlike most foods, it doesn't spoil over time. In fact, the oldest known honey was found in an ancient Egyptian tomb and dated to be about 3,000 years old, despite the aging it was believed to be perfectly edible. WHAT GIVES HONEY THIS UNIQUENESS? To answer this question, we need to understand how honey is made by bees. Honey comes from plant nectar, a mix of various sugars, proteins and other compounds in an aqueous solution. Although the composition of nectar varies from plant to plant and often a range of chemical compounds are present, sucrose is usually the dominant factor. This is actually exactly the same sugar as in the kitchen, the table sugar. The different concentrations of the different components of nectar in the different nectar is the reason that there are different types of honey, depending on the type of nectar that the bees mainly collect.
